Stargazing at API

The Anton Pannekoek Institute (API) is the astronomy institute of the University of Amsterdam. The API is a research institute, but they believe it is important to involve people in their fascination with the cosmos. That is why they regularly organize stargazing evenings, lectures and other activities for a general audience. No prior knowledge is necessary for these types of events: Everyone is welcome! It is useful to make a reservation as the domes can accommodate a maximum of 50 people at a time. The registration links can be found on the website one week in advance.

What can you come and see?

There are 4 time slots for which you can register. When it's clear you can see the moon, Jupiter and the great Orion Nebula through the telescopes! In bad weather you can see the star domes, including the 50cm telescope that is used for our students' research projects. Of course there will also be time for your questions and you can view beautiful photos taken in the domes. The NOVA Mobile Planetarium is always fun, rain or shine.
