Miriam miente / Miriam lies
The creative duo Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada already worked together during their studies at the Cuban Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión, now they work from the Dominican Republic. Their first two works, 'Tú y yo' (2014) and 'El sitio de los sitios' (2016), were well received at international festivals. 'Miriam miente' is their first work of fiction.
In 'Miriam miente' the quiet world of a petty-bourgeois family begins to crumble when 14-year-old Miriam meets her internet boyfriend. While her family and friends enthusiastically prepare her fifteenth birthday party, Miriam doesn't know how to say that her boyfriend has a dark skin color.
