Classical music festival
The Geelvinck Fortepiano Festival lets you enjoy the unique sounds of historic pianos in atmospheric, historic and modern locations in Amsterdam (and beyond). More than 45 concerts will take place during more than two weeks, in addition to a symposium, master classes, lecture recitals and the International Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition.
The festival is organized around the Sweelinck Collection, the most important Dutch collection of historic pianos from the 18th and 19th centuries. During the festival, musicians from all over the world will play almost exclusively on authentic, historic pianos.
The festival stimulates talent development through the only fortepiano competition in the Netherlands. Contemporary compositions for historical pianos will also be given a stage during the festival.
