Anyone can inspire

Amsterdammer, visitor, or homeless person — everyone’s welcome to drop by and spark inspiration for the top musician of the day. Right after, you’ll hear the result. How fast and personal can it get? Heartache, an ode to the oak, sounds for your grandma, life’s big questions — in confidence, listeners can share their story with the musician on duty, who then turns that personal tale into music on the spot. Every day at 3 PM, a second player joins, and you get to hear a duo in action.

Musical diary

In 45 minutes, that duo creates a brand‑new composition weaving together the day’s themes — the city’s musical diary. At 3:45 PM, this piece is presented. The performance is recorded and broadcast across various media channels. On-site, you can share your own reactions via audio, writing, or visuals — if you want. A recording device, pens, and paper are available. Spoken reactions are compiled into the “Voices Symphony,” which will inspire the improvised, celebratory finale concert on July 31. Chat along every festival Wednesday during “Breek je Week.” And on July 27, you can even join in and play along. Registration is required.
