Amsterdam is urbanizing at a rapid pace
Yet everywhere people are still working on a 'real trade'. The Public Workshop is located on a small piece of industrial history, in the middle of the brand new homes on Cruquius Island. During the festival you can get acquainted with the raw pearls, the mournful atmosphere and the modern variants of Amsterdam craftsmen.
Get started yourself
During the festival you will become acquainted with various crafts, existing courses and social initiatives from the area. There are demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions by artisans and lectures.
But of course you can also roll up your sleeves yourself: there are various mini courses, workshops for young and old, welding, blacksmithing, stained glass, wood turning.
