Printed Matters: Raise the Level

The exhibition shows work primarily aimed at improving the health of our planet. The phrase "raise the level" refers to several things, including the need to raise awareness about the impacts of fossil fuel burning and climate change, the fact that global warming is raising the level of the oceans and that real action needs to be taken now.

Shepard Fairey's solo exhibition at STRAAT also addresses other pressing issues such as nationalism, xenophobia, war, fake news and the threat to democracy. Fairey uses recognisable symbols, portraits and texts to address the viewer through his work and involve them in conversations about the subjects.
