Rem van den Bosch: Here Comes the Flood
In the presentation Here comes the flood, Rijksmuseum Muiderslot shows a selection of works by photographer Rem van den Bosch. In his work, Van den Bosch shows in a unique way how high the water will be when the Dutch dykes break.
Rem van den Bosch: Here Comes the Flood
The water will rise
Throughout the country, Rem van den Bosch has photographed iconic places that are vulnerable to or a driver of climate change and sea level rise. The fashion models sit or stand on a red ladder. They indicate with their hand how high the water would be in a flood. With his work, Van den Bosch wants to visualize the reality of rising sea levels in an accessible way.
Tours
During the weekends of 18 & 19 February and 25 & 26 March, there are special water tours at the Muiderslot. Would you like to know more about one of the oldest moated castles in the Netherlands and the relationship with the water around the castle? Then book a ticket for the guided tour at the Muiderslot site.
Muiderslot
The Muiderslot is one of the oldest moated castles in the Netherlands: the castle has stood 'with its feet' in the water for over 700 years. It is also no coincidence that it was built on this spot: on the water, where the former Zuiderzee and the River Vecht meet. Partly in collaboration with Water Board Amstel Gooi en Vecht, Muiderslot wants to share stories about water management then and now with a broad audience.
