Exhibitions about the interaction between art and science

The VU ART SCIENCE gallery focuses on the interaction between art and science. The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is the initiator of the gallery because it stimulates the exchange of multidisciplinary knowledge. In Life of Plants, artists and scientists are invited to analyze our relationship with the world of plants.

Without plants, other organisms cannot exist. Through photosynthesis, they provide the rest of the organisms with oxygen. They form the basis for food, medicine, clothes, fuel. Even colour and beauty are unthinkable without the plant kingdom. Yet half the time we don't see them, or we overlook them altogether. We suffer from plant blindness!
