Foto-expositie Keep on dreaming
Photographer Anne Rosenberg has depicted the absurdity of the housing market in Amsterdam from her personal feeling of powerlessness. She did this by photographing herself and her partner in the only affordable house they managed to get hold of: a dollhouse. The photos show how they move into the dollhouse. The photos will be exhibited from March 21 to April 26 at the OBA (Amsterdam Public Library, location Javaplein).
Foto-expositie Keep on dreaming
Amsterdam has been struggling with a major housing shortage for years
Recently, photographer Anne Rosenberg (1995) has seen many friends leave Amsterdam around her. She also realized that she will probably be tied to high rents for the rest of her life, while her parents and grandparents could once easily buy a house. First-time buyers can only dream of buying a home.
That is how she came up with the idea for the photo series Keep on dreaming . From her personal feeling of powerlessness, she depicts the absurdity of the housing market. Rosenberg photographed herself and her partner in the only affordable house they managed to get their hands on: a dollhouse. Characteristic of Rosenberg's work is that she approaches heavier subjects in a light-hearted manner, preferably with some humor.
The Housing Action Days are held at the end of March, during which action is taken throughout Europe for the right to housing. The exhibition is part of that.
