In his oeuvre of paintings spanning 45 years, he builds on the ideas of Mondrian, Malevich, Yves Klein and Tarkovsky.
In addition to study trips in Europe, Bisschops made many journeys to India, the Himalayas, Egypt and Mali, where he absorbed the art and sacred architecture of the ancient cultures.
He is also inspired by classical and contemporary spiritual-religious music.
His philosophy of life is oriented towards Zen Buddhism. In 'Lighten' Bisschops, like no other, depicts the 'Magical' light.
