The Zaans Museum proudly welcomes the final leg of Jimmy Nelson 's traveling exhibition Ode to the Netherlands . The photographer, known for his impressive depictions of cultural traditions worldwide, has now turned his lens on the Netherlands.

Ode to the Netherlands takes visitors along twenty Dutch communities that cherish their regional and traditional costumes, including the Zaanstreek. The photos show how traditional clothing is lovingly preserved and worn. It offers a contemporary perspective on the preservation of Dutch cultural heritage. It is a call to pay more attention to our own traditions. The exhibition is based on Nelson's book Between the Sea and the Sky .
