About the artists
Marjan Borsjes developed from her social sciences and community work background into a social photographer. She specializes in photographing people. She won photo prizes at the United Nations (as part of the Year of the Family 2004) and Granada (Fine Art 2006). Marjan also received several honorable mentions (International Photography Awards 2004, Mediterrane Photobiennale 2002, nomination PANL).
John Blogg was born in The Bilt, Netherlands. At 13, he got an Agfa Clack Camera. Using his skills as a student at the Fotovakschool in The Hague, Blogg experimented with many styles and techniques in colour photography. In his recent work, the photographer has been inspired by the intriguing beauty of women's feet. Using sheer veils and fabric, Blogg's refined and subtle use of colour is illustrated in his latest photographs. In imaginative ways, he has manipulated the camera to penetrate deeply into the sensitivity of the flesh, creating both whimsical and erotic.
The exhibition's opening is on Saturday, 30 September, between 15:00 and 17:00, during Neighborhood Stories Storytellers in OBA-Reigersbos.
