Yuletide Treats met Duo Pleyel

Yuletide was originally a Germanic midwinter festival, but is now often used as a synonym for the Christmas season, which extends from Hanukkah, via Christmas, to Epiphany. There was a time when it was mandatory for almost all artists to make a Christmas album. After all, one successful Christmas hit meant an annual goldmine. With their new album 'Yuletide Treats', Duo Pleyel, consisting of pianists Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya and Richard Egarr, embraces this tradition. During this concert in the Waalse Kerk, they will treat you to the greatest classical hits that are inextricably linked to the magic of Christmas.

Lovely pieces of music for the festive season

The evening begins soothingly with three beautiful, transcendental parts from Franz Liszt's Weihnachtsbaum. Around Christmas time, music is of course indispensable, Handel's Messiah, so Duo Pleyel will play the two best-known parts for you: For unto us a child is born and Hallelujah.

No New Year's celebration is complete without the waltz An der schönen blauen Donau and the Radetzkymars by the Strauss family. Duo Pleyel will close the evening with Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker Suite. Take a seat next to the Christmas tree in the cozily decorated Walloon Church and enjoy this wonderful Christmas concert.
