What is remarkable about the American poet Mary Oliver (1935-2019) is that she is popular among a broad, spiritually committed audience and is also well-liked by the literary establishment. Her poetry collections became 'best selling' in America - according to the New York Times she is even by far the best-selling poet in America - and she received a wide variety of awards during her career: the Goodreads Choice Award (based on reader votes), the National Book Award (an award given by booksellers) and the Pulitzer Prize (a prestigious jury prize).

Her poems exude an intimate atmosphere as if you are there as she takes walks through nature around Blackwater Pond and marvels at the mysteries of life. Her poetry is treacherously accessible, because every line is understandable, while still containing a deep wisdom.

What is a yoga concert?

A concert, poetry reading and yin yoga class in one – that is the formula of the yoga concerts. The calm, meditative and at the same time intense postures of yin yoga provide the opportunity to sink deeper into consciousness, beyond the thinking patterns of the mind. On the yoga mat, physical sensations intertwine with musical improvisations. Thoughts calm down, creating space for an open encounter: the live music, yoga postures and poetry bundle together, interact and strengthen each other for an inner journey.
