Wolfgang Muthspiel trio ft. Scott Colley & Brian Blade
One of the most influential jazz guitarists forms a tight trio with a double bassist and a world-class drummer in the Bimhuis, Wolfgang Muthspiel trio ft. Scott Colley & Brian Blade. The friendly bond between these three musicians can be heard in their interplay, for example on their album Angular Blues on ECM Records. From poetic and melodic to sharp and angular; every note is captured in a warm sound, in which every player clearly excels. Wolfgang Muthspiel shows here what he has to offer as a guitarist and composer. Equally impressive are double bassist Scott Colley and drummer Brian Blade, both leading in contemporary jazz.

Jazz top
Wolfgang Muthspiel has lived in New York for many years since the 1990s, where he rapidly developed as a guitarist in the upper echelons of the jazz world. Nowadays he lives again in his native Austria, in Vienna, but still regularly works with American greats such as Brad Mehldau and Ambrose Akinmusire. His partners in this trio also belong to the jazz top. For example, Scott Colley played in Herbie Hancock's bands for many years and Brian Blade was part of the Wayne Shorter Quartet for more than twenty years.
