Willem Brons presenteert: Wakana Shimizu
Willem Brons, the éminence grise among Dutch pianists, presents the new generation to the public in De Waalse Kerk. In the last concert of the triptych, pianist Wakana Shimizu plays works by Mozart, Chopin, Dutilleux, Schubert and Mozarts four-hand sonata KV497 together with Willem Brons.

Program
The first piece is, together with Willem Brons, Mozart's Sonata for four hands in F major, followed by two ballads by Chopin and a prelude by Dutilleux. The finale is Schubert's famous Sonata in C minor, an impressive confrontation with Beethoven.

Wakana Shimizu
Wakana Shimizu played Mozart's piano concerto KV 414 at a very young age.
Trained in Tokyo by Yasuko Kurosu, a former student of Willem and Noortje Brons, Wakana graduated cum laude with Willem Brons at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2015. During the Geelvinck Fortepiano Competition 2015 she won the second prize and the prize named after Romain d'Ansembourg. Wakana forms a piano duo with Willem Brons and they regularly play pieces for four hands or two pianos on the Dutch stages.
