In the concert series Willem Brons presents, Willem Brons, the éminence grise among Dutch pianists, introduces the audience to successful former students in De Waalse Kerk. The third concert of this season will be played by Nadezda Filippova, former participant in the International Masterclass Willem Brons, and the program she will play gives a wonderful impression of her versatility. About Nadezda Filippova

As a child pianist prodigy, Nadezda Filippova (Russia, 1989) toured Europe and played Bach's Piano Concerto in F minor with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11. Since 2016, the pianist has lived in Amsterdam, after completing her studies in Berlin and at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

Nadezda passionately believes that music has something to say to everyone. The individual experience is leading: 'What life does this music awaken in you, now, here?' In 2018, she started the series Soirée de Nadezda, to invite creative people as a pianist and programmer who challenge her, bring a different sound world and make fascinating collaborations possible.

Her CD Echo Chambers , released in collaboration with the label 7 Mountain Records, was received with rave reviews in the Netherlands in 2024. “Honest and sincere, without becoming dull or boring,” according to de Volkskrant. The music of Claude Debussy is defining for Nadezda Filippova’s identity. However, works from the 20th and 21st centuries are central to her repertoire. The pianist has collaborated with composers such as Juan Felipe Waller — who composed Echo Chambers for Nadezda’s Dutch Classical Talent tour — Vitali Karagkezidis for the Gaudeamus Festival, with Vanessa Lann and Daan Manneke.
