Vocale Schilderijententoonstelling
Experience the music behind the paintings in an art-filled concert experience. In this "tenTOONstelling" (play on the Dutch words for note and exposition) on June 24th and 25th in the Oosterkerk, the Amsterdam choir Hollands Vocaal Ensemble under the direction of Hester Steensma-Westra will bring to life the inspiration for the paintings of nearly 50 Amsterdam artists from art center MK24.

Musical Impressions
What if as you walked through an art gallery you could hear the music that inspired the painter? Then what you see and hear would be more meaningful, right? The richness of the musical color would blend with the visual force of the painter.
Music Shown
Nowadays it is very common always and everywhere to be able to listen to music: just put in some earbuds! With every setting matching music. That was not always so obvious. The composer Mussorgsky in 1874 wrote music based on the paintings of his deceased friend Hartmann: "Pictures at an Exposition." This formed the inspiration of this collaboration in which artists from MK24 were inspired by music from different periods sung by the Amsterdam choir Hollands Vocaal Ensemble.
