Highlights from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet

Prokofiev was inspired for the ballet music of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare's play about the impossible love between Romeo and Juliet, two youngsters from the hostile Montague and Capulet families. The ballet was such a success that he also created three different orchestral suites for the concert hall and an arrangement for solo piano. The talented young musicians of the Turkish National Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, guests in The Concertgebouw for the first time, play a selection of the most beautiful dances from the rich orchestral suites.
