The orchestra features Scandinavian jazz adventurers such as Sofia Jernberg, Signe Emmeluth and Gard Nilssen. The artistic leader since 2017 has been double bassist Ole Morten Vågan, who now presents his own compositions. Ole Morten Vågan has already written two albums for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, 'Happy Endlings' (2018) and its sequel, 'Plastic Wave' (2021). With 'Plastic Wave' he elaborates bizarrely on the threat of plastic waste to our planet. Despite dark titles such as 'Food Chain Reaction' and 'Critical Mass Distraction', the music is full of slapstick and playful twists, giving the orchestra members a lot of freedom to go their own unpredictable way.

This concert is part of Big Sounds Amsterdam. Big Sounds gives ample space to bands and orchestras that literally fill the entire stage. They take up the challenge with new sounds and influences for which they want to make everyone enthusiastic. Big Sounds spreads over five concert evenings at five top locations.
