The RIVER is the band of singer-songwriter Lily Kiara in which she brings together three great loves: new folk songs, improvisations and poetry. In 2006 the band started with a performance at the Amsterdam Literary Festival. In the years that followed, The RIVER sometimes played with the full line-up of 6 musicians, sometimes with guests and other times in smaller formations. At the end of 2015, the first CD, The SWIM SESSIONS, was released on Sibyl Sings, recorded during a live concert at the Bimhuis.

The RIVER consists of: Lily Kiara (guitar, vocals), Michael Moore (alto and bass clarinet), Michael Vatcher (drums, percussion), Felicity Provan (cornet, vocals), Joost Buis (lap steel guitar, trombone), Julyen Hamilton (poetry), Paul Pallesen (el. guitar)
