The Bach Choir and Orchestra of the Netherlands - Mozarts Requiem
A masterpiece shrouded in mystery.
Mozart's Requiem became known to the general public through the film Amadeus and is perhaps the most impressive work of this composer who died young. Mozart wrote it just before his death, commissioned by an anonymous client. The Requiem evokes feelings of mourning, fear and sadness, but at the same time also hope and beauty. The musicians play authentic instruments from Mozart's time. In the Main Hall of the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands brings this ancient music back to life.
Coronation Mass
The festive Krönungsmesse shows a completely different Mozart. At the coronation of the king of Bohemia, the archbishop stipulated that the mass should not last longer than 30 minutes. Despite, or perhaps precisely because of this limitation, the mass radiates vitality and energy.
Exultate Jubilee
Mozart's concert aria Exsultate, jubilate is performed by Olga Zinovieva. The Russian soprano is making waves on major concert stages and is acclaimed for her enormous vocal range with a two-octave range and unique timbre. With her beautiful voice in combination with an elegant style and allure, she knows how to touch a large audience. All these qualities form the perfect basis for performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's demanding repertoire.
