Die Jahreszeiten by Joseph Haydn
Die Jahreszeiten is a hymn to all aspects of nature and country life from start to finish, with well-known parts such as Sie steigt heraus die Sonne and Komm holder Lenz. All kinds of events pass in review such as: the sunrise, flowing streams, the hunt, birdsong, plowing and harvesting, storm and thunderstorm, the hunt and the feasting where the wine flows freely. Finally, winter brings stillness and reflection. Like no other, Joseph Haydn has rendered the four seasons visual, sometimes moving, sometimes intense, but always captivating for the listener.
