Slagwerk Den Haag - Glass Interludes
Vitreous Body
The Dutch composer and Glass admirer Anthony Fiumara arranged several works for an unorthodox set of instruments and wrote commentary pieces on early Glass especially for Slagwerk Den Haag. An evening to blow the mind and experience the hypnotic power of music. With his innovations from the 1960s and 1970s, Philip Glass was one of the pioneers of minimal music. Slagwerk Den Haag guarantees rock-solid performances of this repertoire – it is no coincidence that the album Vitreous Body is released on Glass' own label, Orange Mountain. The pieces Fiumara arranged for Slagwerk Den Haag include the classic Music in similar motion (1969) and Mad rush (1979), one of the most famous meditative piano pieces of all time.
