Şugar (pronounced Shoe-gar) is back, and this time with a special 'Pink İstanbul' edition. Pink Istanbul connects art, music and people from Amsterdam and Istanbul with an exciting, culturally topical program with live acts, DJs and performances. In light of recent developments in Turkey regarding the LGBTQ+ community, we are stepping up the emphasis on visibility, solidarity and activism through art, dance and music. Sugar (Shoe-gar)* is an open-minded party that connects the LGBTQ+ sounds and ballroom scenes of Beirut, Athens and Istanbul. Expect the sounds of the famous scene clubs and hidden parties, house and disco, from electronic Arabic to pumping Turkpop, and from Greek çiftetelli to hip-hop beats from the East and beyond. These cities are linked by historical, cultural, social and musical ties and Sugar brings all these connections to the stage with DJs, shows, performances and art.
