Rising Stars: Axelle Fanyo & Kunal Lahiry
The Rising Stars series introduces you to tomorrow's greats, playing some unusual repertoire. Besides telling a few stories, soprano Axelle Fanyo will let you, the audience, choose the repertoire for the evening: Copland or Caplet, Poulenc or an American folk song?
'Axelle Fanyo doesn't just play a character; she tells its story. She clearly cherishes the pleasure of telling stories that give her song another dimension,” reports Forum Opéra. Fanyo studied musicology and played the violin but still chose a career as a soprano. This heavenly stormer conquers the opera stage with her voice, sings jazz and cabaret repertoire and immerses herself in song. In her recital with pianist Kunal Lahiry, Axelle Fanyo lets you choose - based on applause -Copland or Caplet, Poulenc or American folk melodies.
In the Rising Stars series, the future stars present themselves with a uniquely composed repertoire. The musicians, selected by the most important European halls, will visit the most prestigious stages during their star tour, including the Kleine Zaal. No evening is the same; every dream program sounds different. Each Rising Star surprises with a brand new piece.
