Requiem for Peace
'The beginning of the Dies Irae cuts through the audience like a storm wind', wrote De Gelderlander after the Dutch premiere of Frigyes Hidas' Requiem for Peace. The Hungarian composer wrote the work in 1996 for choir, soloists and wind orchestra for the 40-year commemoration of the Hungarian Uprising of 1956. The Netherlands Concert Choir & Philharmonie Nijmegen perform this work in 't Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
