Internationally celebrated band
The Amsterdam Klezmer Band started in 1996 as a group of buskers playing traditional Yiddish music. 25 years later, the band has grown into an internationally celebrated band with a strong live reputation. During that time, the band has managed to stay on the radar and tour all over the world. In the meantime, they have built up an audience of connoisseurs who have loved them for many years. Their music is inspired by fellow musicians from Latin America to Russia.
The band has now released 19 albums and has done successful collaborations with Söndörgő, among others. Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, Galata Gypsy and Lilian Vieira.
The Amsterdam Klezmer Band gives klezmer a new sound by mixing contemporary styles and techniques, with Balkan and Oriental music as the main influences.
