Public Image Ltd.

This summer the British punk band Public Image Ltd. released their first album in 8 years, called 'End of World'. PiL was founded in 1978 and is the project of John Lydon, the ex-Sex Pistols frontman. Earlier this year, PiL released “Hawaii,” the most personal song John Lydon has ever shared. The song is a love letter to John's wife Nora, who passed away from Alzheimers on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The new album is also dedicated to her.

This Is Not A Love Song

After several changes of band members, the London group now consists of guitarist Lu Edmonds, drummer Bruce Smith (The Pop Group, The Slits) and bassist Scot Firth (Elvis Costello, Steve Winwood, John Martyn). In 1978, PiL debuted with the unsurpassed album 'First Issue'. They released eight more studio albums until 1992. After a long break, the band reunited in 2009. Their music has earned them 5 UK Top 20 singles and 5 UK Top 20 albums. Club classic 'This Is Not A Lovesong' and the single 'Rise' are the best-known hits.
