Bruce Liu
The career of Canadian pianist Bruce Liu took off after he won the eighteenth edition of the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2021. Just before that, he was backstage doing some magic tricks for his fellow candidates. Magic is a hobby, just like racing and swimming. Liu prefers to play the piano that way, to avoid routine and stay inspired.
From Rameau to Ravel
Bruce Liu has prepared a recital with an original program for you. Liu gives the floor to composers for whom the keyboard instrument was an essential means of expression, and he prefers to choose works from them that avoid the familiar paths. The sample of styles – the late Baroque, Romanticism and the twentieth century are discussed – reflects the versatility of the young Canadian.
