Misha Fomin

With his playing, rich in nuances of sound and full, warm tone, pianist Micha Fomin embodies the virtuoso Russian piano tradition. He is currently recording Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas. Opus 31 no. 2, the 'Sturm', is one of the highlights of Beethoven's oeuvre. The combination of drama, passion and virtuosity makes this composition a timeless masterpiece. The Sonata , op. 110 stands out for its refinement and lyricism, the clarity of its conception and the depth of its musical ideas. It is certainly one of Beethoven's most personal creations.

Chopin's Twelve Etudes , Op. 10, dedicated to Franz Liszt, are magnificent recital pieces full of tension, emotion, beautiful melodies and sparkling passagework. They were received by contemporaries as 'poems in music'.
