According to Marjorie Barnes, the album is like a journey through different moments in her life. “I have lived a lot of life,” she says. 'You take that into account when telling your story.' Marjorie Barnes grew up in New York and lived successively in London, Paris and Vienna before settling in the Netherlands. She sang on Broadway and worked with legends such as Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne and Sammy Davis Junior. "I don't think there is anything more exciting than a big band," is her conclusion. 'Millennium Jazz Orchestra is truly one of the best in the Netherlands.' The group led by conductor/arranger Joan Reinders has guaranteed genuine big band jazz for more than 30 years. It gave concerts at North Sea Jazz and in the Concertgebouw and collaborated with celebrities such as Toots Thielemans and Lee Konitz.
