Marietta Petkova & Carel Kraayenhof: the Hand of the Bear
New is the special collaboration between Marietta Petkova (piano) and Carel Kraayenhof (bandoneon). Two masters of their instruments have found each other in an autobiographical programme, entitled "De Hand van de Beer". From admiration for each other's artistry and an unmistakable click, the idea for a joint tour arose. With folk music as an underlying theme, they perform works by Bach, Scarlatti, Schubert, and Argentinian masters such as Piazzolla, Garçia and Piazzolla.

Music framed with personal stories
The compositions are interspersed with personal stories, such as the one about their fascination for the legendary classical pianist Svjatoslav Richter, whose giant hand once embraced Marietta's small child's hand and in whose honor Carel wrote a poetic piano work, which he later renamed especially for Marietta in ' Ruka na Metchka ('the Hand of the Bear'). A unique top encounter between piano and bandoneon. You can buy tickets for this concert here .
