Luke Stewart’s Silt Trio
Free grooves and rhythms from influential players from the American underground in the Bimhuis. The leading magazine Downbeat has listed Luke Stewart among the '25 for the Future': key figures of the current generation who hold the future of jazz in their hands. In his current Silt Trio, the influential bassist tends towards spiritual jazz in the tradition of Albert Ayler. This is expressed in free rhythms and grooves, with undertones of the blues from his birthplace Mississippi.
