Raised in Georgia, Wright drew inspiration from her Southern upbringing and her experiences at a church where her father was a pastor. At a young age, Wright gained national recognition for her tribute concerts to Billie Holiday and released successful albums that topped the charts.

In 2022, she launched her own independent record label called Blues & Greens Records, with a focus on empowering artists and promoting sustainable and fair business practices in the music industry. The label aims to give artists ownership over their creative works and share their stories by collaborating with industry experts. Her new 'Shadow' will be released in April 2024, the first song of which 'Sweet Feeling' has just been released.
