In January 2013 Kirill Petrenko made his debut with the Concertgebouworkest. Press and public were wildly enthusiastic. Two and a half years later, the surprising news came that the Russian would become the new chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker. He has now been firmly in the saddle for three seasons and is regarded as one of the greatest conductors in the world.
