Kick-off Cellofest met Nesrine en Anissa
On 28 April, BIMHUIS will host the Kick-off of the Cello Biénnale: Cellofest. Nesrine and Anissa provide the Kick-off with a program with exciting Brazilian sambas, melancholy Arabic melodies, Japanese folk songs and catchy Spanish rhythms. Will they see you there?
In 2018, Algerian-French singer and cellist Nesrine made her debut at the Cello Biennale with her band NES, and since then, she has become one of the festival’s favourite performers. During the tenth Cello Biennale, she collaborates with the Dutch Wind Ensemble and cellist Chieko Donker Duyvis (see family performance “Familie Vermi-Celli!”) to present a program featuring exhilarating Brazilian sambas, melancholic Arabic melodies, Japanese folk songs, and infectious Spanish rhythms.
Nesrine, along with her friend, percussionist, guitarist, and singer Anissa Nehari, will perform during The Kick-Off at our stage to get into the mood. Expect a concert filled with sultry Mediterranean and Arabic music with a hefty dose of cello! Tickets can be purchased via this link.
