Janine Jansen & Amsterdam Sinfonietta: Bach
Superstar violinist Janine Jansen feels so closely connected to the history of The Concertgebouw that playing here is like coming home for her. On 21 March, during 'her' festival built around Bach's music, she'll play several of his violin concertos with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
Janine's Bach Festival
You spend your whole life with Bach, says Janine Jansen. The star violinist thinks his music is perfect; everything is right, down to the smallest detail. The Concertgebouw is like a home to her. She feels strongly connected to the place's history and acoustics. For the Small and Large Halls, she, her family, and musical friends put together a festival around Bach's music, from solo sonata to concert.
Bach with Amsterdam Sinfonietta
The collaboration between Janine Jansen and Amsterdam Sinfonietta goes back years. The musicians know each other inside and out. The violinist calls working with the ensemble a joy. "There is a lot of room for experiment, some ideas arise on stage," she explains. 'Mutual trust forms the basis for making music freely.' The program includes various concerts by the great master.
