The UvA Orchestra J.Pzn Sweelinck, consisting of more than seventy enthusiastic and passionate students, will move you during this concert with Rachmaninoff's emotional and profound Second Symphony under the inspiring leadership of conductor Konradin Herzog. In addition, be amazed by a powerful rendition of Strauss' Don Juan , in which the orchestra takes you on a musical journey starring the womanizer Don Juan. Soprano Nataliia Shumska solos in Musorgsky's dramatic song cycle Songs and Dances of Death .

Nataliia Shumska is an extremely talented opera singer. The Ukrainian soprano is only 23 years old and has already won several prizes, including first prize at the fourth International Haydn Competition in Rohrau, Austria. She now works at the Opernstudios of the Nationaltheaters Mannheim and is praised for her steady and sonorous voice.
