Het Lelikoor met a-capella werken uit de Renaissance
Program
Three Lamentations from Jeremiah for Holy Saturday by the Spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria have been chosen for this concert; followed by two Responsories by the idiosyncratic Italian composer Carlo Gesualdo. In the 20th century, the French autodidact Francis Poulenc composed his Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence on texts from the Responsories. The conclusion is the mysterious and incantating setting of the Miserere (psalm 51) by the Scottish composer James MacMillan.
