Harriet Krijgh plays Schumann's Cello Concerto
Harriet Krijgh, prize winner of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, among others, plays Schumann's beloved Cello Concerto . Wife Clara Schumann praised the work for 'the romance, the verve, the freshness and the humor'. The solo part is interwoven with the orchestra and virtuosity is subordinate to musical expressiveness and intimacy. Also striking is the duet for two cellos in the slow middle movement.
Roberto González-Monjas with Beethoven's Fifth
