Hamraaz

Lucie Lelaurian and Khorshid Dadbeh met at the Codarts Conservatory, where they discovered their shared passion for music. As duo Hamraaz they interweave their Iranian and French backgrounds in a unique way. They are performing at the Ambtswoning, the official residence of the mayor of Amsterdam.

Musical dialogue between cultures

Their adventure began in Rotterdam, driven by the powerful and unexpected combination of their instruments. As multi-instrumentalists, they draw from diverse genres and academic backgrounds.

Inspired by their heritage, they strive to promote dialogue between cultures through modal music. Their compositions draw inspiration from the beauty of modality and the rich rhythms of the tanbour and tar.

The ultimate goal of their project is to create powerful music that reflects the essence of instruments and modal music.
