Moments of introspection are conveyed with great beauty

Starting with Schubert's intimate Impromptu in C minor, followed by Beethoven's 32 variations, his greatest tribute to the Baroque. Braley then plays a selection of Brahms's last piano works, op.116-119, which are among his best-loved piano works. After the interval, the contrast couldn't be greater: Debussy's emotional preludes against Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue swinging out of the church! With Braley's outspoken musical ideas, characterized by humour, poetry, modesty, grace and unwavering sincerity, it promises to be a special evening. About Frank Braley

Frank Braley (1968) started piano lessons at the age of four and played his first concert six years later with the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France in the Salle Pleyel in Paris. It was not until 1986 that he decided to devote himself entirely to music and gave up his scientific studies. He attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and won the Queen Elisabeth Competition at the age of 22. The public and press unanimously recognized him as a pianist with exceptional musical and poetic gifts.

Frank Braley regularly plays solo with orchestra and gives concerts in Europe, the United States and Asia. From January 2014 to 2019, Frank Braley was artistic director of the l'Orchester Royal de Chambre de Wallonie in Mons. The ensemble plays about 40 concerts a year. Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto was one of the favorite works in the repertoire. Chamber music is close to Frank Braley's heart and regularly collaborates with musicians such as Maria Joao Pires, Augustin Dumay, Eric Le Sage and Emmanuel Pahud. Braley has an impressive discography with labels such as Warner/Erato, which have received critical acclaim from the press.
