Faiz Ali Faiz is currently the great voice of the qawwali, the age-old transcendental musical expression of Sufism. He descends from a family of cantors, or qawwals, that goes back generations. Faiz excels because of his great range and rich timbre, which is why he is often compared to his legendary role model Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
