Buddy Rich
The American jazz drummer Buddy Rich (1917-1987) is still unsurpassed. That applies to his energy and technique, but also to the way in which he managed to push his big band to great heights. Eric Schuijt has been intensively studying the style and techniques of Buddy Rich for years. In his big band we recognize musicians from Ploctones, Cubop City Big Band, Nueva Manteca and Jong Metropole, among others. The program includes works by renowned Buddy Rich arrangers such as Don Menza and John LaBarbera.
