The Kegelstatt Trio

The Kegelstatt Trio, composed by WA Mozart, is a charming piece of chamber music that explores the brilliant combination of clarinet, cello and piano. Mozart's mastery of melody and interplay between the three instruments is beautifully displayed in this work from 1786.

Beethoven's Gassenhauer Trio, opus 11, offers irresistible melodies and a playful character. Composed in 1797, the piece contains a series of variations on a popular street song of the time and is an early masterpiece of Beethoven's chamber music oeuvre.

The Trio Pathetique by M. Glinka, composed in 1832, is an emotionally charged chamber music work written for clarinet, bassoon and piano. The cello will occupy the bassoon part this evening. With its captivating melodies and dramatic flair, the trio is an important part of the Russian chamber music tradition.

These pieces embody the splendor and diversity of classical and early romantic chamber music and have had a lasting impact on the genre.
