With his incendiary and acrobatic raps, the Ugandan rapper Ecko Bazz is winning over more and more international fans. Ecko Bazz raps about urgent, politically sensitive subjects such as violence, religion and poverty in the Ugandan slums. In his hyperactive performance he mixes all kinds of styles such as trap, gqom and nu-dancehall with poetry in the Luganda language. Can be heard in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.

Ecko Bazz broke through last year with his debut album Mmaso on the Hakuna Kulala label. Now he performs with Debmaster, the French DJ/producer behind Mmaso and other exciting releases on Hakuna Kulala, from MC Yallah, among others. For Mmaso, Ecko Bazz also collaborated with other producers such as Slikback, DJ Die Soon and Scotch Rolex.
Salutingrome
Salutingrome started as an atmospheric solo experiment by Zamity Mitelembe and has recently been transformed into a poetic and genre-crossing live format. Their strong lyrics and energetic performance made an impression at the Le Guess Who festival. Salutingrome plays an abrasive mix of noise rock, post-punk and blues.
Mukuna
DJ Mukuna is a Swiss-Congolese artist who grew up in Basel. With his genre-transcending style of DJing, he quickly became an important figure in the local scene. In his youth he took Senegalese drum lessons and ever since his music revolves around percussion. He became addicted to club music and electronic music and explored all the possibilities of this new genre. Since no one was playing the kind of music he wanted to hear, he decided to try it himself.
