Daniel García Diego Trio
'Jazz and flamenco are brothers' says Daniel García Diego, one of the most exciting pianists of the new Spanish jazz generation. For his latest albums, Travesuras and Vía de la Plata, he delved deeply into the music of his native country. He combined it with the vocabulary of the modern piano trio.
Sparkling contemporary jazz with a touch of flamenco
The result is his own expressive style, in which rhythmic intensity goes hand in hand with melodic richness and harmonic finesse. Daniel García Diego studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was taught by the Panamanian Grammy winner Danilo Pérez, who achieved world fame as a pianist with Wayne Shorter. Pérez became his mentor and played an essential role in his development.
The Daniel García Diego performs as part of the Flamenco Biennale Netherlands.
