Bagatelle

A 'bagatelle' is something small, light and short. Ludwig van Beethoven called them 'little things'. His Für Elise is perhaps the most world-famous example of a bagatelle. In Beethoven's bagatelles, every note has meaning, which is why the form can be so concise. Silvestrov's bagatelles are enigmatic pieces, full of nostalgia, light and hope. Finally, Beethoven's sonata is performed. 111, the drama of which closely reflects the unrest in the contemporary world.
