Norwegian hard rock band Conception are known in the progressive metal genre for their melodic and rhythmic music, a unique, powerful, but also dynamic mix with influences from flamenco, jazz and classical music.

Fifth studio album
After the release of the fourth album, Flow, the band split up, and vocalist Roy Khan joined Kamelot in 1998. Khan has been away from that band for several years now. In 2018, more than 20 years later, the time had come for a reunion, and new material from Conception in the form of an EP entitled My Dark Symphony with the same line-up as then, Roy Khan on vocals, Tore Østby on guitar, Ingar Amlien on bass guitar and Arve Heimdal on drums.
Much work has now been done on a fifth studio album, which will be released in the spring of 2020. It took a little longer than expected, but in 2023 the legends will finally get back on the tour bus to bring it to a halt for Melkweg on 20 April.
